"Ardith" is
a popular bonnet shape of the Natural Form era c. 1877 to
82. She has been blocked on an original chalkware block then
wired and sized to retain her shape. The size of your
chignon and the amount of trim under the front brim will
dictate the angle at which this bonnet will sit. You
may request this bonnet with or without the back brim dip. This
one features handmade cotton violets, velvet leaves and
linen flowers, vintage green picot rayon ribbon and underbrim facing of green silk taffeta.
Unfinished (with cut edges of straw that must be covered)
$65. Finished to order from $135.

"Ursula" is
a very shallow-crowned straw hat with a narrow brim, based
on an original in my collection. She dates from
approximately 1868-72. The brim is wired and faced with
velvet. The same velvet is used for the band and loops
at the front of the brim. The additional decoration is
2" wide vintage rayon ribbon. The crown is lined
with cotton. A narrow round elastic band helps to keep
this diminutive hat in place. Because the shape is a
long oval, the hair needs to be worn somewhat high in the
back to support the back of the hat. This model has been
dyed. In natural straw, $145. Add $7 to dye.
